amazing what a spray and a pic can do..found all the little annoying webs and wisps etc not obvious to the naked eye..
when finished he will be Friedrich Phillip-Emmanuel Kristian von GansPflücken, Baron Stahl, Count of Sontar , Proprietor of Ir10., von Sontar, of the Pangaean Reichs Armee Stahldof Kreis ,Member of the Order of St Daffyd, (The Order of the Black Duck), in the fetching General's version of the uniform of his Regiment " The Ducal Sontarans"
seen him this morning at coffee, the addition of the aiguillette looks excellent!
ReplyDeletecheers
Matt
took about 4 attempts, ended up winding it around 1mm brass rod, squeezing it and Bingo..I real should put a few bobs on the end..and now I can see the left front of the tricorn need a bit of a smooth patch..love this guy, can't wait to paint him!!!
ReplyDeleteUndefeated... in 'Gulping beer and sausages' competitions, at least?
ReplyDeleteI imagine the scope of his victories (military, amorous or at cards) grow (like his waist) with each retelling!
ReplyDeleteLovely figure.
Yes , he is a colourful character..a great Reichsarmee commander..when I finish him I will post up with his back-story and a shot of his beautiful wife , Countess Charlotte von Sontar
ReplyDelete*He* has a beautiful wife? *He* with his paunch of Continental Champion of "Gulping beer and sausages"? According to a French saying 'Lucky in gambling, unhappy in love' (or the opposite, it works in both ways). Thus, if undefeated at gambling... was his wife born Mademoiselle Chatterly with a fondness for gamekeepers, or Grande Duchess of Gerolstein with a fondness for younf military types in flamboyant uniforms?
ReplyDeleteI followed your conversion: a *great* job even before stating to paint!
